Burkina Faso says 170 dead in village ‘executions’
The government of Burkina Faso has reported a horrific incident in which 170 people were reportedly killed in a series of ‘executions’ in a village in the country.
The massacre is said to have taken place in the village of Solhan in the country’s northeastern Yagha province. The government has described the attack as a ‘terrorist attack’ and has launched an investigation into the incident.
President Roch Marc Christian Kabore has condemned the attack and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and to enhance security measures in the region to prevent such incidents from happening again.
