Haiti gangs demand PM resign after mass jailbreak
A group of gangs in Haiti have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry after a mass jailbreak.
Over 400 inmates escaped from a prison in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets on Thursday, sparking fears of increased violence and instability in the country.
The gangs, calling themselves the G9 coalition, have accused the government of failing to provide security for the people of Haiti and have given Prime Minister Henry 72 hours to step down.
The prime minister’s office has not yet responded to the demand.
