Hunt: Childcare plan on track but no guarantees
Health Minister Greg Hunt says the government’s $1.7 billion childcare plan is on track but there are no guarantees.
Mr. Hunt said the government is working as quickly as possible to implement the plan, which aims to make child care more affordable for parents.
“We are making progress and the plan is on track, but we can’t guarantee that everything will go smoothly,” he said.
The plan includes increasing the child care subsidy for families with multiple children and lowering the annual cap on childcare subsidies for high-income families.
Mr. Hunt said the government is also working to improve flexibility in the child care system and make it easier for parents to access quality care for their children.
While the government is confident in the plan, Mr. Hunt said there is still work to be done to ensure its success.
“We are committed to making child care more affordable and accessible for Australian families, and we will continue to work towards that goal,” he said.
