US and UK carry out new strikes on Yemen’s Houthis
Recent reports indicate that the United States and United Kingdom have carried out new airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthi rebels in an effort to combat the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to sources, the airstrikes targeted Houthi military sites in an attempt to weaken their stronghold and disrupt their operations. This marks another escalation in the conflict between the Houthis and the international coalition led by the US and UK.
The Houthis, who have been in control of parts of Yemen since 2014, have been at odds with the internationally recognized government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The conflict has resulted in a humanitarian crisis with millions of people facing severe food shortages and lack of access to basic services.
While the US and UK have defended their airstrikes as necessary to combat the growing threat posed by the Houthis, human rights organizations have raised concerns about civilian casualties and the impact of the conflict on innocent bystanders.
It remains to be seen how the situation in Yemen will unfold in the coming weeks and months, but one thing is clear – the conflict shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
