Former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney dies at 84
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney at the age of 84. Mulroney served as Prime Minister of Canada from 1984 to 1993 and was known for his contributions to Canadian politics and his efforts to strengthen relations with the United States.
During his time in office, Mulroney implemented significant economic and social reforms, including the signing of the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement and the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax. He was also known for his role in the fight against apartheid in South Africa and his support for the Meech Lake Accord, a failed attempt to reform the Canadian constitution.
After leaving politics, Mulroney remained active in public life, serving on various corporate boards and continuing to advocate for causes he believed in. He will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for Canada.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
