New US-Russian Crew Heads to Space Station
On November 2nd, a new US-Russian crew launched to the International Space Station (ISS) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The crew consists of NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.
This mission marks the second spaceflight for Rubins, who previously spent 115 days on the ISS in 2016. For Ryzhikov and Kud-Sverchkov, this is their first time in space.
The crew will spend approximately six months aboard the ISS, conducting scientific research and maintenance tasks. They will also welcome several cargo resupply missions and conduct spacewalks outside the station.
This collaboration between the United States and Russia highlights the continued international cooperation in space exploration. The ISS serves as a platform for scientific discovery and innovation, bringing together astronauts and researchers from around the world.
